Austiacisms in the work of Christine Nöstlinger and their position in Austrian German in present time

The Diploma Thesis "Austriacisms in the work of Christine Nöstlinger and their position in Austrian German in present time" deals with austriacisms from the theoretical and practical point of view. It focuses on the conception of austriacisms from different points of view according to linguistic experts, the analysis of the terms from the novel of Nöstlinger and most importantly on the practical sociolinguistic research. The results of this research have shown that the hypothesis was proven. The hypothesis lies in the fact that the informants know autriacisms and that they actively use them. Austriacisms are a consistent and living part of the present colloquial German language. These expressions are not considered to be an archaism and the informants are proud that this variety of the German language has enriched the standard language. The usage of austriacisms is considered to be a part of the Austrian history and culture. Ödön von Horváth - The Development of the Individual in Modern Popular Plays

This thesis deals with different types of individuals in modern popular plays of Ödön von Horváth. In the first part the development of popular plays is outlined from its beginnings to the present, and there also is a brief description of the Vienna theaters at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Followed by an analysis of the characters in Horváths popular plays, which are: "The Mountain Railroad", "Tales from the Vienna Wood", "Italian Night" and "Kasimir and Karoline".

Modern National Novel in Central Europe

in English The papers contain a finding of the national literature in between novels in the Central Europe at the age of modernism in 20s and 30s o 20th century. The idea definition of national novel in the literatures of Central Europe is difficult and complicated process. This papers work with literal texts as a part of national literature with polish novel Przedwiośnie by Stefan Zeromsky, hungarian novel Édes Anna by Deszo Kosztolanyi, slovakian novel Cesta životom by Ladislav Nádasi-Jégé, czech novel Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka by Jaroslav Hašek and austrian novel Mann ohne Eingeschafen by Robert Musil. The finding is divided into two parts - first is finding of national novel - second is about national character. Both situations are actualized with new terms - novel of the nation and character of the nation. Both literary terms correspond to objects that are not directly denouncing the life of the nation, but produces its main ideas and identification. The slovakian and the hungarian novel focus on the struggle of individual characters with society and their new status. In the contrary to the austrian and the czech novel reveal the principle of applying national characteristics in literary philosophical swirl. The polish novel is stranded somewhere in between these two types of novel. Key...

Literary reflexions of Vienna in Knapp's novel "Herrn Kukas Empfehlungen"

The work deals with the theme reflections of Vienna, which is to be understood in the context of a specific literary work. The researched book is called "Herrn Kukas Empfehlungen". The author is an Austrian-Polish writer Radek Knapp. The story that Radek Knapp in "Herrn Kukas Empfehlungen" describes, tells about the journey of a young Poles to Vienna and his stay there. Radek Knapp creates a reflection of Vienna by presenting Vienna by the main protagonists. This image or reflection of Vienna will be analyzed and commented.
